Adding Christmas To Our Bedroom

Hey Girl Hey Santa is on his way!

I love bringing Christmas all throughout the house, There’s something about the feeling of the holidays everywhere you go that makes you want to get all festive. Adding Christmas to my bedroom is just another touch. There’s something about falling asleep to the smell of fresh greenery, we just love it!

This year I’m all about red, again, I’m kind of loving it’s back, to me it feels (as my Mom would say) homie. The last few years I decorated using muted whites and as much as I love it didn’t seem tradition for me. I need that OG red and green to make me feel like the holidays are here. I don’t know if that’s old school but whatever it is it makes me happy. When I was taking out all my holiday decor from the shed I came across my buffalo check pillows you’ll see on my bed and that set the tone from there on. If you see my posts on Instagram you might have seen a peek inside.. if not let me show you.

In this blog you will see how I decorated my bedroom for Christmas, I share links to shop my look and I teamed up with 3 other designers for a Christmas Bedroom Tour, so after you check out my zone at the end you can hop over to their blogs to see how they Decorated their bedrooms for the holidays too!

Missed the snowflake DIY? I got you… find it here

Our bedding has always been all white for as long as I can remember that is until I found this stripe sheet set… I’ve been obsessed since. Because it’s a natural adding in a pop of red was super easy. I’ve been saying this for years when you add in an accent color you want to add it in at least three times around the room so your eye will scan the room not get stuck on some random color.

I started out with these 26×26 buffalo check pillows.

We don’t have a headboard so I line and prop them up like one.

Adding in a matching ribbon around my boxwood wreath

and a red blanket on the end of the bed was the perfect amount of holiday cheer!!

When thrifting I always hunt for old stockings, throughout the years I’ve come to grow a little collection of random ones and think its super cute to hang them around the house. I thought it was super cute to add one on either side of the bed. I wonder if Santa will fill it!

Adding in a pop of Christmas to my closet… I added a white tree I thrifted for 3 dollars on a half off day so for the grand total of one dolla and fifty cents I jazzed up my zone! I plopped her in a black and white-footed pot to add height and hold her up better. I also had the reindeer for many years, the white tone seemed to pop off the dresser perfect. The Beltran Old English Custom is from my print shop you can find it here

You can spy a black and white of just my husband, it’s actually a picture of us, our very first selfie at the beach. we were laying on the sand with my hello kitty radio behind us. I framed it and love looking at it daily. In our bedroom, I only have pictures of him and I, the room reflect us and we love it!

For my nightstand situation, I kept it super simple. I found this trio of stripped trees at Homegoods and about passed out! Do you remember when I DIYed this nightstand out of an old bench we use to eat on as kids? check it out here if you haven’t.

Dennis and I had our first slumber party date in Big Sur, Ca. We rented a little cabin for the weekend, I’ll never forget that weekend… years later he took me back there to propose to me.

  1. Your bedroom is so gorgeous! Tamara, I especially love the dark slate walls that make the room look super cozy. I always love a good moody wall. The red and striped complement each other so well and create the most inviting bedroom. Love everything you did in here! Thank you for inspiring us!

  2. tamara! I just love it all especially that you drift stocking all year round! I might need to steal that idea from you. Im sure Santa will fill each one up! Love you and your cozy home. xo
